Historical excursion
As far as I remember, I was always fond of history. I was sincerely interested in facts, versed in the events of the past times and admired historical monuments. For me, the subject of history is not just dry letters in textbooks, but a peculiar door to the past, where I can go to find out about those eras that bypassed me.
The history of Russia played for me with bright colors after watching the wonderful dilogy of the films “Rurikovich” and “Romanovs”. I knew well about these eras before, but the visual series and the excellent presentation of the material quickly fell in love. Upon learning of the start of work on Troubles, I expected to see approximately the same level of visual and the depth of historical facts, but after 40 minutes in the demo version I realized that I was brutally mistaken.
Whoever says about the quality https://fantasticocasino.co.uk/ of the future product and related scandals, what I saw caused me a feeling of deep surprise. Why did the main mechanic, such as interaction with the world, plot details or fights, did not show the main mechanic in the demo version? Why is demo version with empty streets so terribly slow down and gives out a little FPS? Why does the only actor of voice acting in the form of Klim Zhukov communicate with the player with a colorless voice that causes rejection? And why did the player give a horse, if you simply look at the city, but dozens of invisible walls do not give us normally?
The demo version of the Troubles will offer the player a short walk in Moscow 1612, where fires were raged and people died. Our actions are limited, as well as locations where we can look. At our disposal there will be about 10 points of interest, where we can always move and listen to a short lecture performed by Klim Zhukov. However, no one will forbid us to arrange a walk in search of sights to admire the landscapes of Moscow. We also have a quick horse, but unfortunately she has nowhere to turn around due to the tightness of the streets, and the acceleration will interfere with numerous invisible walls. After all points of interest are visited, we will be able to pass the exam with Klim Zhukov, answering 5 questions, and this demo will end.
I could not fully enjoy the city landscapes of Moscow due to optimization problems. It seemed to me that I possessed good iron, which stretches fresh large news on the ultras, but Troubles forced me to transfer from high preset to the middle one, where, at times, there were subsidiaries. However, even if I watched the world in high settings, there is simply nothing to admire here. The streets are empty, cobbing buildings are packed everywhere, and a few NPS repeat one animation in 20 fps. The curiosity of the healthyist is cooled by the abundance of invisible walls, which literally burn the “open world”, locking the player in four walls. If you want to pass by the shopping rows, go around a pile of stones or look into the open gate, and there the wall on which you rest on your nose – this open world is offered to me to explore and study? Or these are the flaws of lazy demo version, which will not be on the release?
The developers did not even bother to put a cart or pour garbage, which at least visually limit the player’s movement. The only thing I really would like to praise is the design of the menu with convenient tabs, a pleasant font and stylized card, and an embosses with relaxing music. I did not like the voice acting of Klim Zhukov, in view of a colorless voice, deprived of all intonation, but at the same time the replicas of the nameless commentator liked that the facts about side places of interest were shared with us. Why this person was not called to voice all the remarks of the virtual guide at all?
As a potential buyer, I will deceive. Instead of a traditional portion of gameplay content and acquaintance with game mechanics, they slipped a virtual tour of not the most beautiful historical places and an exam for knowledge of facts. Why did Ubisoft make an excellent virtual guide to the Cathedral of the Parisian Mother of God, where all the textures were digitized and recreated in real proportions, and the developers of the Troubles to simulate the living streets of Moscow 1612 with a minimum set of visual elements? Because I saw in the demo, I cannot add up a full opinion about the game, and I don’t really want to buy a cat in a bag.
I do not consider myself a capricious gamer who is constantly looking for flaws, but demo version frankly upset me. What will happen on the release of April 4, I can only guess, and how this game looks really to remain a mystery to me. However, this is a completely different story.
